Noah (Nooh)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 Noah said, "My Lord, I have been preaching to my people, night and day, 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And verily so oft as I call them, that Thou mayest forgive them, they place their fingers into their ears, and wrap themselves with their garments, and persist, and are stiff-necked. 7 And lo! I have called unto them aloud, 8 then indeed I spoke publicly unto them, and I spoke unto them secretly, 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens, one above another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 God has spread out the earth 19 so that you might walk thereon on spacious paths.'" 20
