Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder, 1 and when the stars are scattered; 2 When the oceans begin to flow, 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 The honourable recorders. 11 Who know (all) that ye do. 12 Lo! the righteous verily will be in delight. 13 And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. 14 which they shall enter on the Day of Judgement, 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again would that you only knew how terrible it really is! 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
