The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By heaven and the night-star! 1 what do you know what the night-visitor is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And no trifle. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
