The Human (Al-Insan)
31 verses, revealed in Medina after The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman) before Divorce (Al-Talaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Verily We created man from a sperm yoked (to the ovum) to bring out his real substance, then gave him hearing and sight. 2 Indeed, We have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They keep their vows and fear a day the woe of which will spread far and wide; 7 they give food, despite their love for it, to the poor and orphans and captives, 8 [saying, in their hearts,] "We feed you for the sake of God alone: we desire no recompense from you, nor thanks: 9 “Indeed we fear from our Lord a day which is extremely bitter, most severe.” 10 And so, God will preserve them from the woes of that Day, and will bestow on them brightness and joy, 11 And reward them for their perseverence Paradise and silken robes, 12 therein they shall recline upon couches, therein they shall see neither sun nor bitter cold; 13 And the shades of the (Garden) will come low over them, and the bunches (of fruit), there, will hang low in humility. 14 And amongst them will be passed round vessels of silver and cups of crystal, 15 Crystal-clear, made of silver: they will determine the measure thereof (according to their wishes). 16 And in Paradise they will be given to drink cups, filled with a mixture of ginger. 17 from a spring named salsabil. 18 ۞ And there shall go round unto them youths ever-young. When thou seest them thou wouldst deem them pearls unstrung. 19 And when you look there [in Paradise], you will see pleasure and great dominion. 20 On their bodies will be garments of the finest green silk and brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give them a purest draught to drink. 21 "This in truth is your recompense, and acceptance of your endeavours." 22

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
