The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 of fire fiercely burning [for all who have attained to faith]! 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 (The armies of) Firaun and the tribe of Thamud. 18 Nay, but the unbelievers still cry lies, 19 However, God encompassed their activities. 20 Indeed, this is a Glorious Koran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
