The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 no soul will deny its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah), 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Surrounded by immortal boys. 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water poured out 31 and abundant fruit, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 And made them virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those on the right. 38
