SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between them, the Most Mighty, the Most Forgiving.” 66 Say thou: it is a tiding mighty. 67 “You are neglectful of it!” 68 (Tell them): “I had no knowledge of the High Council when they were disputing. 69 I have only received revelation to give you plain warning. 70 When your Lord said to the angels; Surely I am going to create a mortal from dust: 71 So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 72 So all the angels prostrated themselves 73 Not so Iblis: he was haughty, and became one of those who reject Faith. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 He said: "I am better than he. You created me from fire, and him from clay." 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 and My rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 78 He said, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection". 79 Answered He: "Verily, so [be it:] thou shalt be among those who are granted respite 80 “Until the time of the known day.” 81 (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong, 82 “Except Your chosen bondmen among them.” 83 (Allah) said: "The Truth is, and the Truth I say, 84 I will fill up Hell with you together with those who follow you." 85 Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves. 86 It is nothing but a reminder to the nations; 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
