Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha Mim! 1 A revelation from [God], the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful -- 2 A Scripture whereof the verses are expounded, a Lecture in Arabic for people who have knowledge, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
