Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every fault-finding backbiter; 1 who has gathered riches and counted them over 2 He thinketh that his wealth will render him immortal. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what can make you know what is the Crusher? 5 A fire kindled by God, 6 the Fire that shall rise to the hearts (of criminals). 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
