Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 These are the verses of the sagacious Book, 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 Those who establish the prayer and give the poor-rate and of the Hereafter are convinced. 4 Those are guided by their Lord and will surely prosper. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 Verily, those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, for them are Gardens of delight (Paradise). 8 where they shall live for ever. The promise of Allah is the truth; He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without pillar as you can see, fixed the mountains on earth so that it may not shake you away, and settled therein all types of living creatures. We have sent down water from the sky and made all kinds of plants grow in gracious pairs. 10 Allah has created this – therefore show me what has been created by those other than Him; in fact the unjust are in open error. 11
