1/2 Hizb 45
< random >
۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And halt them so that they may be questioned. 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say, "You used to come at us from the right." 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 Thus we misled you. Lo! we were (ourselves) astray. 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 although you shall not be requited for aught but what you were wont to do. 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 In gardens of pleasure 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 As though they were eggs hidden. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 A speaker from among them shall say: Surely I had a comrade of mine, 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 "(That) when we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed (be raised up) to receive reward or punishment (according to our deeds)?" 53 He shall say: Will you look on? 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 Are we then not to die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Most surely this is the mighty achievement. 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies. 66 Then they will have on top of it a mixture of boiling water. 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray. 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
