The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 He has laid out the earth for His creatures. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
