In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 Nay, but man doth transgress all bounds, 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Have you seen one who prevents 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Have you seen if he is upon guidance 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 What do you think? Have you seen if he belies and turns away, 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
