Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ OH, THE LAYING-BARE of the truth! 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what will make you realize what the Inevitable Hour is? 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 But the Thamud,- they were destroyed by a terrible Storm of thunder and lightning! 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Hence, [bethink yourselves of the Last Hour,] when the trumpet [of judgment] shall be sounded with a single blast, 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a Garden on high, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 On this day, they will have no friends 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
