Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 The morning when it is unveiled, 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 as a warner to mortals. 36 to whoever among you desires to go forward, or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Aye! every one of them desireth that: he should be vouchsafed scrolls expanded. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they will not remember except as God wills: He is worthy to be feared, and He is worthy of forgiving 56
