He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Prophet frowned and turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As for him who was indifferent, 5 You pay full attention, 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 While he fears [Allah], 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 borne by the hands of scribes, 15 noble and purified. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causeth him to die, and putteth him in his grave; 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Nay, but (man) hath not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 We send down abundant water, 25 Then We split the earth properly. 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 But when the deafening cry comes, 33 On the day when a man fleeth from his brother 34 And from his mother and father, 35 and his consort and his children; 36 Every man that day will have concern enough to make him heedless (of others). 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Covered with the blackness (of shame): 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
