Indeed We created man from sounding clay made out of black smelly mud. 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 And (remember) when thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am creating a mortal out of potter's clay of black mud altered, 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 But Iblis (did it not); he refused to be with those who made obeisance. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 for an appointed time." 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghawin (Mushrikun and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.). 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
