Do not these unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were an integrated mass, then We split them and made every living thing from water? Will they not believe even then? 30 And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance. 31 And We have made the heaven a guarded canopy and (yet) they turn aside from its signs. 32 It is He who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each floating in an orbit. 33 We made no mortal before you immortal. Will they become immortal after you die? 34 Every soul will know the taste of death. We tempt you with evil and with good as a trial; and to Us you will return. 35 And when the disbelievers see you, they do not appoint you except as an object of mockery; “Is he the one who speaks ill of your Gods?”; whereas they deny the remembrance of the Most Gracious Himself! 36 Man has been created hasty; very soon I shall show you My signs, do not be impatient. 37 And they say, “When will this promise occur, if you are truthful? 38 If only the unbelievers could apprehend the moment when they would neither be able to ward off the fire from their faces and their backs, nor help reach them! 39 Nay, it shall come on them all of a sudden and cause them to become confounded, so they shall not have the power to avert it, nor shall they be respited. 40 Other Messengers before you were also mocked, but those who scoffed at the Messengers were overtaken by the same scourge that they had scoffed at. 41
