Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 and the severally severing 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 Of the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 “Which neither gives shade, nor saves from the flame.” 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor be allowed to proffer excuses! 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
