The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
