Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

And never did We send any Prophet to a dwelling but We seized its people with hardship and adversity so that they may become humble. 94 and then We changed their hardship into ease until they grew affluent and said, "Our fathers had also experienced adversity and prosperity," then We seized them suddenly, unawares. 95 Had the people of those towns believed in and feared God, We would have showered upon them blessings from heaven and earth, but they rejected the truth. So We seized them on account of their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of these towns now feel secure against the coming of Our punishment upon them by night while they are asleep? 97 Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they were at play? 98 Are they then secure from Allah's scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's scheme save folk that perish. 99
