And they ask you about Dhul-Qarnain. Say: "I shall recite to you something of his story." 83 We established him in the land, and gave him the means to achieve all things. 84 So he followed a certain road 85 Till, when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout. We said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Either punish or show them kindness. 86 He submitted, “Regarding one who has done injustice, we shall soon punish him he will then be brought back to his Lord, Who will punish him severely.” 87 But as for him who believes and does righteous deeds - he will have the ultimate good [of the life to come] as his reward; and [as for us,] we shall make binding on him [only] that which is easy to fulfill." 88 Then he followed a way 89 until he reached the rising of the sun, he found it rising upon a nation for whom We provided no veil against it to shade them. 90 So; and We encompassed in knowledge what was with him. 91 Then he set out on another expedition 92 Until, when he came between two mountains, he found before them a nation that did not appear to understand any speech. 93 They said: 'O Dhu'l-Qarnain, Gog and Magog are oppressing the land. May we pay you some tribute so that you could build a rampart between us and them?" 94 He replied, "The power that my Lord has granted me is better (than your tax). Help me with your man-power and I shall construct a barrier between you and Gog and Magog. 95 bring me blocks of iron." Then, when he had filled the gap between the mountain sides [he said], "Now blow on the fire with your bellows." When the iron blocks were red with heat, he said, "Bring me molten brass to pour on them." 96 Thereafter they could neither scale it, nor could they pierce it. 97 He said, “This is the mercy of my Lord; then when the promise of my Lord arrives, He will blow it to bits; and my Lord’s promise is true.” 98 ۞ And on that day We will leave a part of them in conflict with another part, and the trumpet will be blown, so We will gather them all together; 99 And We will bring forth hell, exposed to view, on that day before the unbelievers. 100 whose eyes were blinded to My remembrance and they were not able to hear. 101

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
