We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors. 31 We gave preference to the Israelites over the other people with Our knowledge 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 “There is nothing except our dying just once, and we will not be raised.” 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 It was not in play that We created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. 38 We did not create them save with a purpose, yet most people have no knowledge of this. 39 The Day of Final Decision is the appointed time for all; 40 A day when friend can in naught avail friend, nor can they be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
