No, by the moon! 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul shall be pledged for what it has earned, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [Who will be] in gardens, questioning each other 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They will answer: “We were not among those who observed Prayer, 43 and we did not feed the needy. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 until death approached us". 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
