The Night (Al-Layl)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the night when it covers 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 For him that gives and fears (Allah) 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We shall facilitate for him the Way to Bliss. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 and denied the Truth of goodness: 9 We shall facilitate the path to affliction 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, Guidance is Ours, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who had denied and turned away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 but only out of a longing for the countenance of his Sustainer, the All-Highest: 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21
