The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 It will bring low (some); (and others) it will exalt; 3 This will happen when the earth is shaken, shaken 4 and the mountains are totally shattered and crumble to pieces 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A number of the earlier peoples, 13 And a few from the latter. 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 they will be waited on by ageless youths 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of limpid drink. 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 27 mid thornless lote-trees 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and gushing water, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
