Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 Guiding to the right way, so we believe in it, and we will not set up any one with our Lord: 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 Like you, they thought that Allah would never raise the dead. 7 and that “we tried to pry (the secrets of) the heaven, but we found it full of terrible guards and shooting meteors”; 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 (It has been revealed to me that) When the slave of Allah (Muhammad SAW) stood up invoking (his Lord Allah) in prayer to Him they (the jinns) just made round him a dense crowd as if sticking one over the other (in order to listen to the Prophet's recitation). 19
