No, by the moon! 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the dawn when it is white, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 a warning to mortal man 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
