The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And by oath of the One Who created the male and the female. 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We will make smooth for him the path for evil; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Verily We take upon Ourselves to guide, 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 Therefore do I warn you of a Fire blazing fiercely; 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 acting only for the sake of his Lord the Most High -- 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
Almighty Allah's Truth.
