Aaron had already, before this said to them: "O my people! ye are being tested in this: for verily your Lord is (Allah) Most Gracious; so follow me and obey my command." 90 [But] they answered: "By no means shall we cease to worship it until Moses comes back to us!" 91 Then Moses asked Aaron, "What made you not follow me when you saw them in error? 92 from following after me, did you disobey my order' 93 Answered [Aaron]: "O my mother's son! Seize me not by my beard, nor by my head! Behold, I was afraid lest [on thy return] thou say, 'Thou hast caused a split among the children of Israel, and hast paid no heed to my bidding!" 94 Said Moosa, “And what is your explanation, O Samri?” 95 He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." 96 Said [Moses]; "Begone, then! And behold, it shall be thy lot to say throughout [thy] life, 'Touch me not! But, verily, [in the life to come] thou shalt be faced with a destiny from which there will be no escape! And [now] look at this deity of thine to whose worship thou hast become so devoted: we shall most certainly burn it, and then scatter [whatever remains of] it far and wide over the sea! 97 Your Lord is the One who is the only God and He has the knowledge of all things. 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whoever turns away from it will surely carry a burden on the Day of Judgement, 100 Abiding under it - an evil burden for them on the Day of Resurrection, 101 The day the trumpet blast is sounded We shall raise the sinners blind, 102 They will slowly talk to each other and say, "Our life on earth was as short as ten days". 103 We are most knowing of what they say when the best of them in manner will say, "You remained not but one day." 104
