The tribe of Ad rejected the Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 124 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 So fear Allah and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 What, you build a monument on every hill merely for fun 128 And take ye for yourselves castles that haply ye may abide. 129 And whenever you apply force become tyrannical. 130 Have fear of God and obey me. 131 And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether thou admonish us or be not among (our) admonishers! 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 and we shall not be punished." 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 Verily your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 140
