1/2 Hizb 45

۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” 22 Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 'Why do you not help one another? 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 The sentence of our Lord has come true for us. We have certainly to taste (the punishment), 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Verily, thus shall We deal with all who were lost in sin: 34 For when it was said to them: 'There is no god except Allah' they were always proud 35 And say: "What! shall we give up our gods for the sake of a Poet possessed?" 36 Not in the least. He has brought the truth and confirmed the other messengers. 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits, and they shall be highly honored, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 White, a pleasure unto the drinkers. 46 no headiness will be in it, and they will not get drunk thereon. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 and then he looks and sees that [companion of his] in the midst of the blazing fire, 55 He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me; 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 This is indeed the mighty triumph, 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 Verily, We have caused it to be a trial for evildoers: 63 Surely it is a tree that-grows in the bottom of the hell; 64 The fruit thereof is as though the hoods of the serpents. 65 And lo! they verily must eat thereof, and fill (their) bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of it they will have a brew of boiling water. 67 then their return is to Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
