Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision, and that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
