The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 So that none may err against the scales, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And the jinns did He create from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
