Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Indeed what you are promised, will surely befall. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 The fire will shoot out sparks as big as huge towers 32 So like golden camels." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is a Day whereon they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
