Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In the high empyrean, 10 hearing there no babble; 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 therein uplifted couches 13 and goblets set forth 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains – how they have been established? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
