Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Has the Reminder been cast upon him alone among us? Nay, rather he is an impudent liar.' 25 Tomorrow they will come to know, who is the liar, the insolent one! 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 And tell them that the water is to be divided between them, each drink for each in turn. 28 But they call their comrade and he took and hamstrung (her). 29 Then see how (dreadful) was My punishment after My warnings! 30 Then We sent a single blast against them and they became like dry stubble which has been trampled upon. 31 And in truth We have made the Qur'an easy to remember; but is there any that remembereth? 32 Lot's people also gave the lie to the warnings, 33 Surely We sent upon them a stonestorm, except Lut's followers; We saved them a little before daybreak, 34 As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And he [Lout (Lot)] indeed had warned them of Our Grasp, but they did doubt the warnings! 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 And indeed, abiding suffering did befall them early on the morrow: 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished. 40
