The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And by those that press forward as in a race (i.e. the angels or stars or the horses, etc.). 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 and behold, they are awakened. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 But Allah did punish him, (and made an) example of him, - in the Hereafter, as in this life. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
