The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 And when the pregnant she-camels shall be neglected; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas rise, 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the books are spread, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
