The people of Lot cried lies to the Envoys 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said, "If you do not desist, Lot, you will surely be banished." 167 He said: verily I am of those who abhor your work. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed your Lord – only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
