A Sign for them is the earth that is dead: We do give it life, and produce grain therefrom, of which ye do eat. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands did not make it; will they not then be grateful? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night, We withdraw therefrom the day, and behold, they are in darkness. 37 The sun is running its course to its appointed place. That is the ordaining of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing. 38 how We ordained the moon to pass through certain phases until it seems eventually to be like a bent twig; 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And a sign to them is that We bear their offspring in the laden ship. 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 But (by) mercy from Us and for enjoyment till a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 None of the signs of their Lord ever comes to them but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: Spend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Shall we feed those whom Allah, if He willed, would feed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They await only but a single Saihah (shout, etc.), which will seize them while they are disputing! 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
