As for one who turns away from the remembrance of the Gracious God, We appoint for him a devil, who will become his intimate companion. 36 And verily, they (Satans / devils) hinder them from the Path (of Allah), but they think that they are guided aright! 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 It shall not profit you today, since you did evil, that you are partners in the chastisement. 39 What, will you make the deaf hear, or guide the blind and he who is in clear error? 40 We shall punish them whether We take you away, 41 or We shall show you what We have promised them; for surely We have complete power over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned. 44 And ask (O Muhammad SAW) those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you: "Did We ever appoint aliha (gods) to be worshipped besides the Most Beneficent (Allah)?" 45
