So did you observe him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
