The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains shall be made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
