The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters; 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed the ledger of the wicked will be in (the lowest depths) Sijjin. 7 And what can make you know what is sijjeen? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 On the Day of Judgment, they will certainly be barred from the mercy of their Lord. 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
