The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ NEAR HAS COME the reckoning for men, but they turn away in remissness. 1 Whenever a new advice comes to them from their Lord, they do not listen to it except while playing. 2 With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], "Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?" 3 He (Muhammad SAW) said: "My Lord knows (every) word (spoken) in the heavens and on earth. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower." 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 Not a township believed of those which We destroyed before them (though We sent them portents): would they then believe? 6 We never sent (anyone) before you except men to whom We revealed to them. 'Ask the people of the Remembrance if you do not know' 7 We did not make their bodies immune to hunger, nor were they immortal. 8 In the end, We made good unto them Our promise, and We saved them and all whom We willed [to save,] and We destroyed those who had wasted their own selves. 9 We have sent down to you a Book which has a reminder for you. Do you not understand? 10
