Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found there but one house of those surrendered (to Allah). 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 It left not aught whereon it came but it made it as matter decayed. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
