Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed, We sent Noah to his people, [saying], "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful punishment." 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 Then I conveyed the message to them, again, both in public and in private, 9 “I therefore told them, ‘Seek forgiveness from your Lord; He is indeed Most Forgiving.’ 10 He will send down abundant rain from the sky for you, 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Do you not see how God has fashioned seven skies one above the other, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
