He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 "And ease my task for me; 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 and appoint for me, out of my kinsfolk, one who will help me to bear my burden: 29 Haroun, my brother, 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 and let him share my task, 32 so that [together] we might abundantly extol Thy limitless glory 33 And remember you a great deal. 34 You are surely seeing us' 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 Saying: Throw him into the ark, and throw it into the river, then the river shall throw it on to the bank, and there an enemy to Me and an enemy to him shall take him. And I endued thee with love from Me that thou mightest be trained according to My will, 39 Then your sister followed you, and said (to the people who had retrieved the child): 'Should I guide you to a person who can nurse him?' We thus brought you back to your mother that her heart may be cheered, and she may not grieve. (Remember) when you killed a man We saved you from anguish; and tested and steeled you (in other ways). Afterwards you sojourned for several years with the people of Midian; then you came up to the measure, 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go, you and your brother, with My signs, and do not be remiss in remembering Me. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 Then say to him a gentle saying; haply he may be admonished or he may fear. 44 Both said: O our Lord! Surely we fear that he may hasten to do evil to us or that he may become inordinate. 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
