(The nation of) Aad belied their Messengers. 123 When their brother Hud said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 124 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 125 So fear God and listen to me. 126 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 When you lay hands upon anyone, you do so as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah and obey me. 131 Keep your duty toward Him Who hath aided you with (the good things) that ye know, 132 succoured you with flocks and sons, 133 and with gardens and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 this is nothing but a habit of the ancients: 137 And we are not going to be punished. 138 So they belied him, and We destroyed them. Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 139 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 140

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
